All about purifying shampoo
How long does a bottle of LAO Care Natural Purifying Shampoo last?
On average, one bottle of LAO Care Purifying Shampoo lasts 3 to 4 months, with 3 washes per week.
You will need to respect the recommended quantity, namely two pumps of shampoo per wash, doing a double wash.
If you have short, not too thick hair, use only one pump.
How soon can I expect results?
It depends very much on your current routine and your specific problem... but it can happen very quickly!
The key to success: wash your hair twice, following our recommendations and paying particular attention to the back of the head.
How do I know if LAO Care Purifying Shampoo is suitable for my hair?
The best way to choose your shampoo is to take the LAO hair diagnostic!
After an analysis of your scalp and lengths, you will find personalized advice on shampoos and lifestyle, diet and natural products.
Is Purifying Shampoo suitable for sensitive scalps?
Yes, for several reasons. It does not contain sulfates , those cleaning agents known to be stripping. Instead, LAO Care has incorporated gentle cleaning agents such as glucosides, derived from sugar.
Also, the LAO Care Purifying Shampoo contains a very high concentration of nettle hydrosol, known for its sebum-regulating properties.
What is the pH of your Purifying Shampoo?
Depending on the batch, the pH of our cleansing care products is between 5 and 5.5.
We chose this level to respect the physiological pH of the scalp. An acidic pH (less than 7) is also better for the hair fiber because it tightens the scales and makes the hair softer!
I have dry or damaged hair, what should I expect?
This Purifying Shampoo contains no oils, silicones or quats. It was designed to purify the scalp and leave hair very light.
If your hair is damaged, it will need repair, and for that we recommend our Complete Bond Repair Treatment
If your hair is dry, you absolutely must complete your routine with the brand-new conditioner!
I have dandruff, will your shampoo make it go away?
The Purifying Shampoo has been specifically designed to help rebalance the scalp.
It was tested on a panel of people with dandruff, and 79% of them observed a significant reduction in their dandruff, or even its disappearance in less than 30 days!
I'm going natural, how long does the transition last?
Most of the time, there is no transition when going natural with LAO Care.
Follow our usage tips closely because it's all in the technique! Always wash twice, massage your scalp well and focus on the back of the head.
If you are going through a transition, we recommend a clarification
Tips for your hair
How do I use a Purifying Shampoo properly?
Always wash your hair twice ! The first wash removes dust and dirt, while the second wash purifies the scalp and leaves your hair feeling clean.
Pay particular attention to the back of the head, under the mass of hair. This is the hairdresser's secret to restoring freshness and lightness!
How to make a natural clarifying shampoo?
A clarifying shampoo is a shampoo that will lightly strip the hair in order to detox the fiber.
The idea is to remove not only excess sebum, but also the oils and silicones that build up over time with washing and care.
Check out this article to learn all about clarifying with baking soda.
What are the best cleansing agents for a natural purifying shampoo?
Choose a sulfate-free Purifying shampoo , as sulfates are low-quality, very stripping cleansing agents that can damage the scalp.
At LAO, you'll find gentle, sugar-derived cleanser options like Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Glucoside, and Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate. Combined, they create a rich lather!
What are the best natural ingredients to combat oily hair?
Certain plant-based active ingredients are known for their effectiveness on oily hair .
LAO chose nettle, but there is also thyme, clary sage, mint, organic lemon, green clay...
Why is my hair oily?
It is often multifactorial: the causes are internal (hormones, stress...) and external (pollution, UV, unsuitable hair products).
Check out the blog post dedicated to understanding the causes of oily hair and specific recommendations for addressing it.
Why should I avoid using soap on my hair?
Soap in pebble form is made by a reaction between vegetable oils and lye. This reaction gives the product a basic pH of around 10 (7 being neutral, and below 7 acidic). A basic pH opens the hair's scales, making them rough and hard to style!
