What is hemp protein?
Hemp seeds are very rich in protein, vitamins and minerals such as iron and magnesium. With a concentration of between 50% and 65% protein, hemp protein is widely used in food for its benefits for the body, for digestion and for its nutritional value. This makes hemp protein a very rich protein, full of virtues.
Hemp oil is highly prized in cosmetics. However, nobody was using hemp protein, so we did!
Hemp protein, to protect your hair
To start formulating the LAO cleansing products, we searched all over France for ingredients whose effectiveness is scientifically proven. We came across hemp protein somewhat by chance. And we had this intuition that its quality as a protein could bring a dose of care and extra protection to the hair, because hair itself is made up of more than 95% of one protein: keratin.And we were right! After tests carried out with an independent laboratory, we were able to show that the protein incorporated into our cleansing products protects your hair from pollution, oxidation, fine particles and UVA.
Then we filed our first patent on the use of the protein in our cleansing products, which strengthens LAO's position as a natural expert.
Hemp protein, a local, responsible and effective active ingredient
Hemp is easily grown organically and is very eco-friendly. The crops do not need to be irrigated and are drought-resistant, which makes production easier. Hemp also has a strong smothering effect on weeds. So there is no need to add pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. It is a very healthy crop.
What's more, we didn't have to look far, since the seeds come from Alsace, just like us!
