When we decided to create natural shampoos , it was vital for us to source our ingredients as close as possible to home. And there was no question of having ineffective ingredients! We created tables listing the most sustainable and active organic plants , according to hair type . This is how nettle and hemp were selected!
Why did you choose hemp and nettle as your main active ingredients?
Nettle
In our purifying shampoo you will find nettle hydrosol among the main ingredients.
Nettle is hand-picked in its natural habitat in the eastern Pyrenees, then transformed into hydrosol (without added preservatives) by our producer. He makes it to order! The result: no waste and fresh active ingredients!
Nettle has many benefits in medicine but also in cosmetics:
⁃ Purifying
In France, according to notebook no. 3 of the Medicines Agency 1998 the uses
traditional uses retained for the leaf and aerial parts of the nettle are (AFFSSaPS1998):
“For external use: Anti-seborrheic, scalp stimulant, deodorant”. By reducing sebum secretion , it helps fight dandruff and oily hair .
- Fortifying
Its contribution of silica and mineral salts helps to thicken and strengthen the hair while providing softness and suppleness .
- Beautifying
Rich in proteins, amino acids, iron, vitamins C, B and A, it brings shine to dull hair .
Hemp
We use hemp in oil form in our nourishing shampoo .
Hemp oil is extracted from organic hemp seeds grown in eastern France, just 30 km from our offices. One of its advantages is that it's a crop that requires neither irrigation nor plant protection products!
Hemp grown in Alsace does not contain any psychotropic active ingredient (THC) and is very interesting in cosmetics !
In fact, its composition is very close to that of the skin's natural lipids . You can therefore find it as an ingredient in many body and hair care products .
⁃ Nourishing
Rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and proteins, hemp oil is a perfect natural solution for dry, brittle or unruly hair . It nourishes the hair and strengthens the natural film that surrounds it.
- Fortifying
It strengthens the hair's protective film and reinforces the cohesion between its different layers .
Hemp oil also helps add volume and shine to fine, dull hair . It will also boost hair growth .
⁃ Anti-inflammatory
The presence of omega 3 gives it anti-inflammatory properties . It is therefore perfect for use on sensitive and dry skin prone to eczema, for example.
Please note that it is also non-comedogenic , so don't worry about the surfaces of your face coming into contact with this oil.
In conclusion...
These two plants have long been recognized for their beneficial properties, which is why we selected them. It is vital for us to be able to monitor production and maintain direct contact with our suppliers to ensure quality and traceability.
